The triennial K show, held in Düsseldorf, Germany, is returning on October 24 to 31 this year. Awaiting it is an industry which, having a good start in the new year, is ready to make the best of the new K year.

"The year 2007 has just got started, and initial data have already suggested that it is going to be a prosperous year," Ulrich Reifenhauser, Chairman of the Exhibitor Council of K2007, said during a press activity held in Hamburg from March 12 to 13.

"Moreover, it not only is a year for the machinery and raw material sectors, but also will see a recovery in the processing and the final recycling fields," he further said. "Following the strong growth in the second half of last year, this year will continue to grow on a par with last year, thanks to the economic upturn."

More than 2,900 exhibitors

Against this background, the 2,900 plus exhibitors of K2007 ¡V both global leaders and new comers ¡V will demonstrate their capabilities in all aspects within the industry, from raw materials, factory equipment and machinery, to processing solutions for different industrial applications.


Tesa's Holospot technology serves both counterfeiting and tracking purposes.
Coming from 57 countries and regions, the exhibitors will be well accommodated in the 17 halls in Düsseldorf Trade Fair Center. Exhibition area will total 168,000 square meters, 8,000 square meters larger from the previous edition in 2004, which is made possible by the construction of a new exhibition hall in the north of the existing trade fair center. Construction of this new hall is scheduled to be completed this Autumn.

"We are pleased to receive the continuous support of exhibitors from different all corners of the world. Thanks to them, we are proud to say once again that the K show is the exhibition of an incomparable product range of depth and diversity in the industry," Mr Reifenhauser stressed.


Airbus also applies carbon-reinforced composite vertical tailplanes to the A380.
During the press activity, world-leading self-adhesive tape manufacturer Tesa introduced its Holospot system which, based on laser technology, serves both counterfeiting and tracking purposes. And aircraft manufacturer Airbus demonstrated the use of carbon-reinforced fiber composites on vertical tailplanes. According to Airbus, the composite material offers a 30% cost-saving compared to traditionally used light metal materials.
